Sprenger Sensogan KK Ultra Kimblewick Bit
The Sprenger KK Ultra Kimblewick is the ideal choice for strong, speedy ponies with young riders on board allowing for enhanced communication; this bit is extremely popular in the jumping ring and cross country.
The Sprenger KK Ultra Kimblewick provides both poll and curb action; this bit features a central lozenge also known as a bean. This central lozenge is set at 45 degrees forward which means that it sits comfortably and evenly on the tongue. As the bean sits evenly on the centre of the tongue, once contact is taken up, the bean takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue and applies pressure allowing for enhanced communication. The unique design prevents upper palate interference and ensures that the tongue does not become pinched or squeezed. Unlike a Pelham, the Kimblewick results in far lesser poll pressure due to the shorter D shaped cheeks of the bit. The Kimblewick should be ridden with two reins for rein clarity.
The Sprenger KK Ultra lozenge takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue ensuring there is no risk of pinching. The mouthpiece is anatomically to follow the contours of the horses tongue and is designed to help promote consistency and rein aid clarity. Combined with the running gag cheek, this bit ensures that the feel in the mouth remains soft whilst providing the rider with great lift, helping to get the horse back and off the forehand.
