Sprenger MAX-Control Pelham Bit
The Sprenger MAX-Control Pelham, or "Danger Pelham" features a double jointed mouthpiece which locks at a certain angle, becoming a straight bar. This bit is designed to lie very well in the mouth when the horse is working properly. When the horse gets strong or opposes the rider's rein aids, the more intensive rigid effect occurs. It then unlocks immediately when the contact is softened, instantly rewarding the horse for the correct reaction.
The mouthpiece of this bit enables precise and effective rein aids as it works on the tongue, poll and lower jaw. The rings give a leverage effect on the poll which can be varied through the use of different rein options, changing your level of control. This bit is often used in combination with bit converters or with two reins.
Available in a range of sizes, with a 16mm thick mouthpiece.
