The Neue Schule Slimma Swales Pelham is a useful bit for horses that are usually considered heavy or strong. This Swales Pelham works on the principle of removing poll pressure whilst increasing curb action to achieve lightness and obedience. The reduction in poll pressure usually combats over-bending, whilst the tongue bridge arches over the tongue, profiling under the upper palate. The combination of the mild Slimma mouthpiece and Swales cheek is excellent for use on a horse that fully understands the aids; it's only recommended for riders with an independent seat and sympathetic hands.
