Myler Loose Ring Snaffle 36 Mullen with Low Port (Forward Tilt)
The Myler Loose Ring Snaffle 36 Mullen with Forward Tilting Low Port is a Level Two-Three bit in the Myler bitting system.
The 36 ported mouthpiece is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen mouthpiece. Like the traditional mullen, the Myler 36 mouthpiece is also a solid mouthpiece, curved to sit across the bars of the horse's mouth, but it has a wide, low port which allows the tongue to pass underneath the bit comfortably. The port is ¼" high - just high enough to allow the horse to elevate the tongue and swallow, but not enough for palate pressure.
The 36 mouthpiece doesn't offer as much tongue relief as the other Level Two-Three mouthpieces due to the low port restricting the tongue. The port is tilted at a 45u2070 angle which applies more tongue pressure once the reins are engaged. This mouthpiece also works on the bars and lips once the reins are engaged, and has independent side movement.
Available in 5", 5.5" and 6"
